The gate

What we take, and what we turn away.

Clean concrete only. Everything we accept is crushed into aggregate, so what comes through the gate has to be something a crusher and a magnet can turn back into rock and steel.

We take
  • Clean demolition concrete. Broken slabs, driveways, sidewalks, footings and structural concrete.
  • Concrete with rebar or wire in it. Rebar in the concrete is fine — we pull it out on the line.
  • Returned ready-mix. Accepted at the gate alongside demolition concrete.
We turn away
  • Asphalt
  • Brick and block
  • Dirt, wood and mixed construction waste
  • Mesh rolls and coated slabs
  • Anything with visible hazardous material

Rejected loads are turned around at the scale, not dumped and argued about later. Not sure about yours? Email a photo of the load to sales@hillmix.com before you haul it.

After the gate

Where your concrete goes.

It doesn’t get buried. A jaw crusher breaks it down, an overband magnet lifts the steel out for the mill, and a screen grades the rock into ¾ in, ⅜ in and manufactured sand.

That rock is the crushed concrete our own trucks put back into new ready-mix, and it’s sold by the ton. The steel is baled and remelted into new steel. Your old driveway becomes somebody’s new foundation.

Questions

Concrete disposal questions, answered.

Where can I dump concrete near Denton?

At our yard, 5191 FM 2931 in Aubrey: about 15 road miles from Denton and about 12 from Little Elm and Pilot Point. We take clean demolition concrete and returned ready-mix on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Can I dump concrete with rebar in it?

Yes. Rebar in the concrete is fine. We pull it out on the crushing line and send it to a steel mill.

Do you take asphalt, brick or dirt?

No. We turn away asphalt, brick, block, dirt, wood, mesh rolls, coated slabs, mixed construction waste and anything with visible hazardous material.

How much does it cost to dump concrete?

Email sales@hillmix.com with what you’re bringing and roughly how many tons, and we’ll tell you before you haul. Every load is weighed in and out on our truck scale.

What are your hours?

6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. Saturday mornings by arrangement, so email ahead.

Do I need to book a drop-off?

For anything over 200 tons, yes, so we can stage the pile. For smaller loads, an email before you haul lets us confirm the material and the time.

Will I get a weight ticket?

Yes. Every load is weighed in and out and photographed at the gate, and the ticket is emailed the same day, which helps if your project tracks how much waste it diverts.

What happens to my concrete?

It’s crushed into ¾ in, ⅜ in and manufactured sand that goes back into new ready-mix, and the steel goes to the mill to become new steel.
